A hip district known for dive bars, colorful street art and unique eats.

When touring the restaurant row of Mills Avenue just north of East Colonial, you will find a common handheld menu item, the taco.

Tacos are the perfect meal for the hipster on the go, running late for a concert at Will’s Pub or riding their bike back from day drinking in Ivanhoe Village.

Like most “Best of” articles mine is a bit of a cop out.

I don’t have a favorite taco. I have a favorite taco dependent on the time of day.

Nothing beats Tako Cheena after a long night. Their Korean beef taco helps erase those IPAs you downed at Lil’ Indies, and the crowded eatery doesn’t bother you when your bae of the night walks in.

When you wake up the next day, you’ll be doing your body a favor by stopping by one of Mills 50’s newest restaurants, King Bao. It’s not a traditional taco, but this isn’t a traditional district. King Bao’s Asian buns are eaten like a taco and, while they may look small, two of these fluffy buns filled with your choice of protein is plenty as a lunch option.

You wouldn’t think that one of the most picturesque sunset views in Orlando would be located on Mills Avenue, but that’s the case at Black Rooster Taqueria. As the sun sets, those rays fill the cozy fast casual restaurant as you feast on the best guacamole in town.

When your tacos arrive, take a look outside as the street parking begins to fill and patrons flock to The Guest House bar next door. With a plethora of great taco options on Mills instead of picking the best, pick the best time to enjoy them.
