The Sentinel Super Six boys golf rankings for the 2020 season include five teams that scored top three finishes in state tournament play. State champ Lake Mary Prep leads the pack.
The strength of Orlando area boys golf shows in the fact that Circle Christian, a top five finisher in the Class 1A state tournament, did not make the cut.
Here are the Super Six teams:
1. Lake Mary Prep: The Griffins rolled to the Class 1A state title with 299-298–597 scores after winning District 6 (290) and coming in a close second to TFA at 287 in region meet.
2. Winter Park: Wildcats tied for second at state in 3A (297-304—601) and had area’s best iWanamaker season rating. Shot 290 for district title, 299 in Region 1 tournament.
3. Lake Mary: Rams tied Winter Park at state (310-291—601) after shooting 291 for district runner-up finish and 292 for third in Region 1.
4. Windermere: Wolverines followed strong regular season with district win (293), region title (295) and seventh place finish in 3A state tourney (314-306—620).
5. Bishop Moore: Hornets won district and region crowns and finished third in 2A (305-309—614) after winning all but one of their regular season matches.
6. The First Academy: Royals tied for 1A state runner-up honors (310-310—620) after winning Region 2 at 285 and carding 290 district tournament score.
