UCF learned about its future Big 12 football schedule for the 2024-27 seasons after the conference announced its future schedule model Wednesday.
The Big 12 will have 16 teams with the addition of Arizona, Arizona State, Colorado and Utah while Texas and Oklahoma will depart for the SEC after this season. Each team will continue to play nine conference games, with each team playing each other at least once home and away during that four-season span.
“As we look toward the future of this conference, we are thrilled to introduce the first football scheduling matrix for the new-look Big 12,” commissioner Brett Yormark said in a statement. “In this model, competitive balance and student-athlete wellness were prioritized. Rivalries will be protected, and new matchups will be introduced — the excitement and parity this conference is known for will continue for years to come.”

The Big 12 will maintain its current 5 home/4 road and 4 home/5 road game rotation for all 16 members, citing a way to minimize non-conference scheduling disruptions. Other factors in considering scheduling were travel distance, time zones and maintaining rivalries.
UCF’s 2024 schedule features home conference games against Arizona, BYU, Cincinnati, Colorado and Utah. The Knights will play games at Arizona State, Iowa State, TCU and West Virginia.
The non-conference schedule next season features home games against New Hampshire (Aug. 31) and Sam Houston (Sept. 7) and a much-anticipated road contest at Florida (Oct. 5).
The campaign will mark the Knights’ first meetings against Arizona, Colorado, Iowa State, TCU and Utah.
It’s been more than two decades since the Knights played at Arizona State (2002) and West Virginia (2003).
UCF Athletics reaches new 5-year deal with Nike through 2029
The 2025 schedule features home games against Houston, Kansas, Oklahoma State and West Virginia. The road games feature stops at Baylor, BYU, Cincinnati, Texas Tech and Kansas State.
UCF will be making its first trip to Baylor and its second trip to BYU (2011).
The 2026 schedule has home games against Arizona State, Baylor, BYU, Iowa State and TCU. The road games are at Colorado, Houston, Kansas and Oklahoma State.
The 2027 schedule has home games against Cincinnati, Colorado, Kansas State and Texas Tech with road contests at Arizona, Baylor, Iowa State, Utah and West Virginia.
