Walt Disney World has set the dates for annual passholder previews for the Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana attraction at Epcot.

The preview dates are Sept. 24-29 and Oct. 1-4 at the theme park. Disney has not announced an official opening date for Journey of Water, but it has said it will open in “late” 2023. WDW cast members have been touring the Moana attraction for a few weeks. (UPDATE: The attraction will open to the public Oct. 16, Disney announced.)

For the upcoming passholder event, Disney has strayed from the virtual queue/advance registration system. Instead, passholders must have Epcot theme park reservations for the day of their visits. But passholders holding reservations for a different Disney World park or passholders coming to Epcot after 2 p.m. without reservations will not be eligible to attend the preview that day.

Disney, Universal, SeaWorld set the table for food events to lure crowds

An activated annual pass is required for participation. Visitors must show their pass, MagicMobile pass, MagicBand or MagicBand+ when checking in. The entrance to the attraction, which was announced in 2019, is across from the park’s Coral Reef Restaurant.

Journey of Water — located south of Epcot’s Spaceship Earth in the World Nature neighborhood — is a self-guided, walk-through attraction, an exploration trail “where you can connect with water and discover its magical personality,” according to Disney World’s website. It educates about the global water cycle, and it incorporates characters from the 2016 Disney animated film “Moana,” which featured the voices of Auli’i Cravalho and Dwayne Johnson.

Getting wet while at the attraction is optional, Disney’s site says.
