Mermaids are returning for appearances at Sea Life Orlando Aquarium, the Icon Park attraction on International Drive, next month.

Visitors will be able to spy the performers swimming inside the large tanks alongside sea turtles, stingrays and sharks. There will be on-dry-land encounters and photo ops with the mermaids as well. The experiences, produced for the fourth year at the I-Drive attraction, are included with regular Sea Life admission.

“Our mermaids are ready to dive in and give all who venture into their habitat a magical experience they’re sure to never forget,” Rachel Burden, Sea Life’s marketing manager, said in a news release.

The mermaids will be at Sea Life on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays between Oct. 6 and Oct. 29. Shows will occur at 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m., 2-4 p.m. and 5-6:30 p.m. The out-of-tank meet-and-greets will be 11:30 a.m.-6:30 p.m.

Folks who show up dressed as their “favorite mermaid,” the news release says, have a chance to win a mermaid-themed prize.

Ticket prices vary with date from $31.99 to $34.99, but there are Florida resident discounts available on the attraction’s website. There also are add-ons for sale, including a virtual-reality experience, behind-the-scenes tours and a discounted ticket bundle with sister attraction Madame Tussauds Orlando.
