Four Central Florida restaurants shut down the week of Sept. 17-23, according to data from the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation.

Orange

Twin Peaks at 8350 International Dr. in Orlando shut down on Sept. 20. Inspectors found 20 violations, three of which were a high priority. Those violations included food not cooled within the proper time frame, flying insects and multiple food items held at the wrong temperatures.

Officials revisited the restaurant on Sept. 21. They found 10 violations and issued a time extension for the flying insects. A follow-up inspection was required.

On Sept. 22, inspectors conducted the final inspection. They found nine violations and none were a high priority.

The restaurant met inspection standards.

Volusia

Cruisin Cafe at 900 Main St. in Daytona Beach shut down on Sept. 22. Inspectors found 23 violations, eight of which were a high priority. Those violations included roach excrement, rodent activity, uncovered rodent bait and a stop-sale on food due to it not being in a wholesome condition.

There were two more inspections on Sept 23. On the first inspection, there was only one violation but a follow-up inspection was required. On the second inspection, there were 12 violations. Officials issued time extensions on several high-priority violations, including raw food not separated from ready-to-eat food, a stop-sale on food and food held at the wrong temperatures.

The restaurant still requires a follow-up inspection, but inspectors said violations were not a threat to the public.

The venue was also subject to an official administrative high priority complaint noting the “Establishment removed closure sign posted by the division. -closure sign was totally removed from front entrance street door at a1a/main st. Adhesive from sign has been cleaned off.”

Lake

Olive Branch Mediterranean Italian Grille And Bar at 115 West 3 Ave. in Mount Dora shut down on Sept. 20. Inspectors found 21 violations, two of which were a high priority for roach activity and an improperly stored toxic substance.

Officials revisited the restaurant on Sept. 22. There were six violations, with the roach activity remaining a high priority. On Sept. 25, inspectors visited again finding three violations, with roach activity still an issue.

The facility remained closed after the Sept. 25 inspection.

Seminole

Never Phoget A Taste Of Vietnam at 505 State Road 436 in Casselberry shut down on Sept. 22. Inspectors found 16 violations, three of which were a high priority. Those violations included live roaches, roach excrement and an improperly stored chemical substance.

Officials revisited the restaurant the same day. They found 13 violations and issued a time extension for the presence of roach excrement.

A follow-up inspection required, but inspectors said violations were not an immediate threat to the public.

Complaints and warnings

Volusia County had the top spot for most warnings and other complaints in Central Florida, with 37.

Orange had 31, Brevard had 18, Lake had five, Osceola had six and Seminole had nine. Warnings given with required follow-up inspections could lead to a business being shut down if problems remain.
