Miami (4-2) vs. Clemson (4-2), Saturday, 8 p.m., ACC Network

Latest line: Clemson is favored by 3 points

The hangover from the Georgia Tech game continues. The Hurricanes have better talent than a year ago and have a real offense this season. But the fundamentals need cleaning up — turnovers, penalties and, yes, kneeling down — and it’s hard to pick them in a big game until they do. Three of Miami’s four wins this season have come against Miami of Ohio, Bethune-Cookman and Temple.

The Hurricanes are determined to get a much-needed win after two straight losses. Win, and Miami is 5-2 going into a mostly favorable second half of the season. Lose, and the Hurricanes are 4-3 with three straight ACC losses. Clemson’s offense feasted on weaker opponents like Charleston Southern and FAU, but against Power 5 teams, the Tigers are averaging just 19.75 points in four games. If the Hurricanes can keep the Tigers out of the end zone, they could do just enough to beat a talented Clemson defense and pull out a crucial win.

Clemson is coming off a bye week, while Miami is coming off back-to-back losses. Clemson has won four straight games against the Hurricanes, outscoring them 178-30 during that span. The Tigers have won their last two games against Syracuse and Wake Forest after falling in OT to No. 4 Florida State. Clemson’s defense is ranked fifth nationally, allowing just 261.8 yards a game. This game will certainly be much closer than the last time Clemson played at Miami, a 58-0 Tigers win in 2015. Last year, Miami lost 40-10 at Clemson.
