A 60-year-old bicyclist was hit and killed Sunday morning at the intersection of North Pinehurst Avenue and North Wickham Road north of Melbourne, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The 60-year-old woman from Melbourne was traveling westbound in the crosswalk of North Wickham Road just before 8:20 a.m. Sunday when a 53-year-old woman driving a 2018 Ford Ecosport made a left turn at the green light and hit the bicyclist, FHP said.
The driver was not injured and remained at the scene. The bicyclist was taken to Holmes Regional Medical Center, where she died, FHP said.
The crash remains under investigation, FHP said.
